I still haven't watched the very last episode but after ep 8 I needed to gets this out of my systemaaaah
Word count: 333

Jayce does his best to set the bone in spite of the excruciating pain both the fracture and the added manipulation caused. He knows all to well the danger of letting it mend crooked—not that he’s got the luxury to care
he hasn’t got the time to care
he hasn’t got the time to heal and yet he’s still trapped down there so he’ll have to anyway
he hasn’t got the time, time is as fractured as his leg—
no even more than that, reality is fractured.
(what have they done)
He chokes down what would be hysterical laughter had he just a little more energy left and comes out as a desperate sob instead; it’s a good thing he remembers exactly how he made Viktor’s new cructh and leg brace. He put so much care, so much love in forging them, just as he poured later into forging his new little toy—that stupid, useless hammer that broke his own leg!
Said hammer lays now taken apart for parts and partly remade into a leg brace and crutch
(look Viktor now we match
no wait Viktor himself doesn’t use a brace anymore
his own brace fused with his very leg
and the HexCore changed his crutch too
the crutch Jayce forged for him, lovingly, to his specifications, so he could could keep walking
keep working
keep being his beautiful brilliant Viktor)
Jayce snaps the brace shut—for something forged in a hurry on a campfire it’s still carefully crafted, fits nicely, and will do the trick of holding his injured leg together. He’ll pull himself out of this shithole. What’s left of the accursed hammer, he pulls back together again, half crutch, half weapon.
(they swore they wouldn’t make weapons
don’t think of the fucking gun he made for Caitlyn
and look where he is now?)
Mind set
leg set
damn weapon set
he gets up.
Now for reality itself…
I’ll set it right
if it breaks my heart
I promised.
