But you usually never thank me, complained Richard in his dream representation of Howard.
Usually being, Howard had asked for one favour before, and he did thank him the time Richard rescued him unprompted (not that it made a difference in the end, but still...)
Yeah well Richard's just insecure; he pretends not to care at all, but he still wants recognition and Thank-you-s. He thought he would never seek fame and was not prepared to react when fame did come to him.
He never recognized just how much Chubby did for him either, until it was way too late. He managed to feel grateful for Tomie’s love... and yet he treated her like shit anyway. What can he say, in the end he’s an asshole... and he’ll blame all the bastards who did him in in life for his present attitude. Howard most of them. Yeah. If only that one bastard’d been a little more respectful of his own brother and niece and himself... uh. Not that he had any logical reason for that last one. But maybe Richard just wanted to be liked, until he heard that it was indeed the case and yet it changed nothing.
