The Liones house displays a very unusual crime scene. The husband died by suicide—that’s easily proven. The wife’s clothes are all torn, but assault is as quickly disproven. From her gaping chest the heart was removed with surgical precision... post mortem, and the actual cause of death is still unknown.
Recording of Mr Liones’ call to 211 muddies things even further instead of shining a light: there’s this third voice, unidentified.
What role did this man play, what did or didn’t the wife do, what link is there with Rose exactly?
She’s seen weird shit, working with Paxtown’s crime squad, and this might not be the worst scene, but it’s probably the densest mystery she’s faced. It makes no sense, absolutely no sense. She senses that she’s missing on something vital to understand; you’d need someone terribly insane to see any logic in it.
Still, she’s got to tackle the case and she will do it, even if it drives her up the wall.
