Humans need stories; DEATH knows they need them to be human, but Lilith twists them--everything has to be perfect and moral and she forgets that humans are imperfect. Her mirror is a pretty picture: cropped into a frame and gilded. A mirror inverts what it reflects, not right and left as commonly thought, or right and wrong, but front and back, close and far, and it can easily be made to lie: and uneven surface, convex, concave, a speck, a flaw; deforms the reflection... yet Lilith believes her twisted, lying reflection to be true, truer than the reality outside.
