Djellibeybi is set in what foreigners call the Fertile Crescent; Ptraci learns so when she comes into her kingdom and opens the borders though she misunderstands the word. Surprise! her queenhood also comes with divine powers: fertile feet.
She wants to make her kingdom develop, to grow past its well past times; it may not be what she had in mind, but well, they have to keep the people fed and entertained, so a good show...
But really, it’ll be better to depend on themselves or a reliable river than on a magic queen; she’ll grow into her role too.
