Magrat used to wear all this mystic jewellery—she thought it helped her connect with her inner self.
When facing the Elves, she channels Queen Ynci through time and space* and life and planes.
...well what do you know, turns out that Ynci was fictional: so is it her true inner self then that she got to the surface?
She may or may not need the occult boost anymore, but the silver stars are still pretty, and they look good on a queen anyway. She’ll keep a few.
* most surfaces in Lancre are vertical, but they still take up space.
