Angua feels the moon strongly, and the night too—the absence of the sun other than reflected by the moon. A few days and nights each month there’s this call she cannot refuse to answer, half of her body bleeds into the other and into her mind. She’s got to find balance between the days and nights she can choose her form, her behaviour, her diet; and those nights the choice is taken from her. She lives with it, month after month, year after year, planning each day and night of the month but fearing to plan any future year.
