* Queen Iguana's warm breath encompasses everything in this world, says the lore. The Etherium Barrier surrounds the Valley and keeps it safe from outisde chaos. Hidden inside, the eternal guardians, the Great Iguanas slumber, and further stands not just a cold, dark night, death's very void, but also monsters. Whomever strays away'll get lost; freezing to death or suffocating would be a lesser evil where abominations could rip you to pieces instead.
Time and time again along the centuries heretic voices will rise, suggesting that Etherium might not be so much a protection than a prison, and that a wider world would stand outside, waiting for brave explorers to conquer its wonders. Yet nobody ever came back for any outward journey, and both factions take the fact as confirmation: either that everyone was massacred, or that everything was so much better out there turning back to tell the tale home wasn't even worth it.
But then again the Valley of Kings is such a nice place, safe and sweet; how would one think of leaving it? They won't call it a Paradise or the Gods would do them in for that hubris, but surely outside can only be Hell.
