War rages through the Valley and it looks like the whole world's ending. King Vévrier died while his son Théodore is still too young to hold reign, Raghan started a civil war and all the vassals quarelling are tearing the Empire apart.
The young prince has no choice but to fight and deafeat them, one by one, making right throught might. It takes months, years of bloody battles between too many parties and alliances. The demon-like powers his Kinglets adquired through occult means eat at their very hearts and destroy everything around them.
The Valley's citizens suffer through these dark times; rogues plunder through the land, the Empire loses its grasps and crumble.
Théodore prays, all too aware of both his own strength and his limits. Gods answer: five knights in armour open the heavens, ride by him to a last battle, vanquish the kinglets and seal the breach. Iguana Queen then raise the Ether barrier, enclosing the Valley. Cut off from the rest of the world, they have no choice but to find a new balance quickly... or perish.
