Mrs Esperanza intends her house to be a safe space for children who need stability, who need to feel at home. She doesn't realize how cruel it is to flaunt her perfect family’s happiness when these children can never actually belong; when they’ll never be part of this family anyway, and to force them to share living quarters up close and personal with her jealous daughter.
She just doesn't want to see the full extent of Trisha's ill disposition and keeps on hoping she will mellow out and make friends with a nice girl in need of sisterly affection, eventually.
