Elorna Morgan had lost her mother upon birth. Never did her father talk about neither his late wife nor her death's circumstances; she learnt of it through her neighbours' careless talk. Old friends told her she had her mother's beauty, her kindness but didn't add much more. She never knew her at all; she was the only daughter of only her father, an old school instructor and now general. And this father held high expectations for her--no guilt over his wife's passing, but his daughter had to be the very best of all his trainees, present and past, old mere pupils and young soldiers both.
As for both physical fitness and tactical skills she was more than good enough to please her fathe. She never knew whether he was disappointed in her for never managing to use magic, however. To be honest, she hardly knew him at all despite sharing a roof and getting extra personal training from him.
Then, torn between such burdens from both sides of her broken family, how could she become her own person, how wouls she forge her own path?
