Young Marianne's destiny was decided not at birth or when her parents disappeared from her life, but when Calistra found her. This made her an oblate and sealed her childhood in a convent. What else could she become, then, than Sister and later Scoring Priestess? There wasn't really any choice for her. This was all she knew ever since the sisters took her in and she doesn't remember anything else.
Supposedly she was free to live the monastery but why would she do that? It was her home, her life. And yet she dreams of something more. The more magic she sees, the more she want to try her hand at it. She knows all its theoritical aspects, on attack, defense, effects, what gets fighters points in sacred tournaments during festivals... and she wants to practice it now, to feel it first-hand. She's sure she's able to.
She just needs to find a secluded spot, a bit of time alone and try with all her might.
