Starlight Glimmer was happy as a foal. She had a best friend, a purpose—that she didn't know back then and only realized in hindsight but she lost both.
Then everything changed when Sunburst got his cutie mark and so much praise for his talent—that she didn’t see as so special and thought she shared too. Suddenly she was left behind.
What she used to love she now hates.
Even when she finally proves as much if not more brilliant at magic she still hurts too much to enjoy it. Damn Cutie Marks: the whole system has to change.
