Note: i've stopped watching at the end of season #7 and only vaguely know what happens to Pinkie at the very end of the series, without any details on further character development

Ponies who know Pinkie Pie superficially think she’s got two moods: reasonnably happy and absolutely hyper.
Those who actually know her, beneath the surface, know that she has to. If not, if bored, if sad, her mood swinging the other way is just as extreme—or even worse, for everything repressed finally bursting to the surface.

Her parents were so dull, so… lifeless? She never wants to go back to that. She absolutely cannot go back to that.

(She knows that Maud feels just as intensely as she; she just expresses differently. What about their other relatives? Do they too?)
