Princess Celestia never lies—it’s a given. Yet, she doesn't always tell the full truth; sometimes not at all, sometimes only chosen parts of the whole. It's not out of malice, it’s not outright manipulation.
She cares deeply about all her little ponies and will never send them into harm. Sometimes she has to shield them from too dangerous discoveries, or ready some when there’s no other choice to protect countless others.
The only one she ever sacrificed was her own little sister and she got her back in the end but--
