There wasn’t that much age difference between Luna and Celestia… back then.
That, until jealousy overcame Luna and she let herself get corrupted.
Now healed, purged of the years of suffering spent as NightMare Moon’s effects on her psyche, but also on her body, she’s brought back to who and what she was as a younger pony--before she got corrupted.
She lost her experience—but for fleeting nightmares at night—and has to relearn, differently, to grow up again.
That gap might be filled, Luna finally catching up with Celestia… only in aeons, when they outlive everypony else anyway.

Nice use of the prompt. It's strange to think of terrible things happening in the MLP:FIM universe, but you've shown the experience that Luna had very well here. Lucky for her, she has the time to heal.
