In his youth Jayce never thought before that blue eyes were that pretty—cold, piercing, yes, but not pretty.
He knows he never got a good glimpse at the Mage’s features, obscured by his hood but he caught a quick glimpse at two glowy blue circles—too big to be human eyes so maybe he was something else or he was just wearing goggles… which would be sensible to protect his eyes from the glare and the cold. Unlike he and his mother forgot.
Well now somehow he imagines that his eyes were blue, as blue as the wondrous magic that saved his and his mother’s life, bluer even than the stone left as a token of… what? Gratitude goes the other way. A promise that in the future he’ll make great things using his life and dreams and hard work? A proof that it did happen, he didn’t just dream the whole thing.
Mrs Kiramman whose first sponsoring might just make his dream possible and sweet little Caitlyn who tags along both have blue eyes and they’re not alluring per se but he finds himself trusting them for reasons that are possibly right and possibly wrong. He’s just trusting.
Mel whose better sponsoring combined with Viktor’s incredible mind makes his dream all the more possible, Mel’s eyes are actually green, but set in her lovely dark skin and echoed by all the gold accents she wears they do look as golden. Mel’s more grounded in reality and that’s good, they need just that to tether them.
Viktor now, Viktor who believed in him unconditionally and made his dream a reality, Viktor has golden eyes, for real; a hue similar to his own so… is it narcissistic that he could wax pages upon pages of poetry about Viktor’s golden eyes?
